بنابر تصمیم بانک مرکزی، حداکثر ارز مسافرتی ۱۰۰۰ دلار است ولی این میزان ارز به مسافران کشورهای جمهوری آذربایجان، ارمنستان، پاکستان، افغانستان، امارات متحده عربی، ترکیه، لبنان، تایلند، گرجستان، قبرس، تاجیکستان، ترکمنستان، مالدیو، اندونزی، مالزی، فیلیپین، سنگاپور و چین پرداخت نمی شود.

بنابر تصمیم تازه به مسافران عازم این کشورها فقط ۴۰۰ دلار ارز دولتی داده می شود. سهم ارزی مسافران سوریه و عربستان نیز ۴۰۰ دلار تعیین شده است.

منتقدان می گویند که دولت تلاش کرده است با دامن زدن به بحران ارز و افزودن به قیمت آن، منابع ریالی لازم برای پرداخت یارانه های نقدی را فراهم کند اما دولت منتقدان خود را به توطئه علیه ثبات اقتصادی از طریق ایجاد آشوب در بازار ارز و طلا متهم می کند.

گزارش‌ها نشان می دهد که با وجود بازگشت آرامش به بازار همچنان نرخ ارز در مقایسه با پیش از بحران بازار ارز، بالاست. هر دلار امروز شنبه نهم اردیبهشت در بازار آزاد با قیمتی کمتر از ۱۷۰۰ تومان خرید و فروش شده و هر یورو به قیمت ۲۳۰۰ تومان و هر پوند نیز به قیمت۲۸۵۰ تومان در بازار معامله شده است.

این قیمت تفاوت زیادی با قیمت های بانک مرکزی دارد. بانک مرکزی برای هر دلار ۱۲۲۶ تومان، هر یورو ۱۶۲۱ و هر پوند ۱۹۸۲ تومان قیمت تعیین کرده است و با این قیمت ارز مسافرتی به مسافران داده می شود.

با وجود محدودیتی که بانک مرکزی در ارز مسافری در نظر گرفته، از این پس مسافران ایرانی عازم خارج از کشور باید بخش عمده ای از نیازهای ارزی خود را در بازار آزاد تهیه کنند.
